The first morning of our trip which was a sunday we made it to the beach by 9am and rented a couple of boards from tahoe paddle oar in kings beach. Hop on your board and begin heading south along the east shore. The other options are 1 hour or 3 hours. The water isn t too cold in july.

We do not accept same day phone or internet reservations so if you want to paddle today head to the park and find our tent by the park s boat ramp.

The water is crystal clear and it s a great way to see part of the lake that you just can t see on land or by boat. The sand harbor to memorial point trail is a short half mile trail offers a link to memorial point and provides access to many secluded beaches and rock areas. This summer tahoe adventure company is offering a new sand harbor kayak and paddleboard rental package with mini tour. We open in may on the weekend before memorial day.

I recommend renting out for the full day and making the most of it. You do have to park and walk over. Sand harbor is beautiful worth it. Start by traveling to sand harbor state beach park in the parking lot and bring your equipment to the sandy shore.

Paddle around the waveless baby beach and get your sea legs and then venture out into the harbor to get an up close and personal view of all the activity.
